trade minds with people you want to influence

1. The Business Acumen of Successful Acupuncturists BOOK

  • Write down your goals daily. REPEAT. REPEAT. REPEAT. You get what you think about most of the time.

“If you don’t see yourself as a winner, then you cannot perform as a winner.”

- Zig Ziglar

  • Read what those patients say about my work and THINK about what you want your patients to say about your work. Work with CLEAR INTENTION. I set my intentions for my practice in 1993 when I thought about WHY I wanted to practice Chinese medicine.

  • Take the concepts and apply them into your life. Keep repeating the basics.

  • In 5 years, your income will be the average income of your 5 best friends.

  • People talk about 3 things primarily: PEOPLE, EVENTS, FUTURE (BIG MINDED PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE)

  • Successful people are too busy doing what unsuccessful are too good to do. If you want to be successful, NOTHING should be beneath you to do.

  • Listen to AUDIBLE: SHUT UP AND LISTEN! - Tilman Fertitta, Jim Gray

“Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.” - Zig Ziglar

2. Connecting with your patients

  • Trust is earned. Trust is never bought.

  • Listen to their needs.

  • Listen to everything they tell you. What they keep repeating is what they keep thinking.

  • Be in line with your each of your patient's goals. Do not simply follow your own agenda.

“Outstanding people have one thing in common: an absolute sense of mission.”

- Zig Ziglar

3. Underpromise and overdeliver

  • Work longer hours.

  • Give more to your patients.

  • The person who works more for less will eventually earn more money than they will ever expect.

“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” - Zig Ziglar

What is the Human Way to Handle this?

1. Be a Leader

  • How you do anything is how you do everything.

  • Focus on the basics every day. WHATEVER YOU DO, your fundamentals will guide you to success.

  • You must expect to win.

  • Lead with enthusiasm.

“You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.” - Zig Ziglar

2. Take full responsibility

“If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.” - Zig Ziglar

3. Be motivated and confident daily

  • Marketing is daily.

  • When you love what you do, you are not working; therefore, you are ALWAYS working.

  • Your attitude dictates every room, every person in the room and determines your activities.

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” - Zig Ziglar

4. We do not rise to the occasion. We fall to the level of our training.

“We don't rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.” Greek lyrical poet, Archilochus.

Think Progress

believe in progress

push for progress

1. Who do you listen to?

  • You listen to people who have the results in their lives.

  • You take counsel from people who will lift you.

  • You listen to your gut.

“When you are tough on yourself, life is going to be infinitely easier on you.”

- Zig Ziglar

2. How do you dress?

  • Your choice of clothing shares a subconscious message to your patients that you move with the times.

  • Feel comfortable.

  • Wear clothes that make you feel powerful.

3. How do you wear your hair?

  • A new haircut makes you feel fresh and powerful.

  • Old fashioned hair style sends a message that you are stuck in the past.

  • How you wear your hair shares a message if you care about yourself and others.

“In the game of life, before you get anything out, you must put something in!”

- Zig Ziglar

4. How receptive are you to other people's ideas?

  • Do you listen without talking?

  • Do you let people finish their thoughts?

  • Do you show your disgust on your face if you disagree with them?

  • Do you tell people that you completely disagree with them?

  • Do you attack people's ideas?

  • How welcoming are you to other people's thoughts and shared ideas?

“Sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful.”

- Zig Ziglar

5. The How - How do you practice. This has to change as your practice evolves.

“Motivation gets you going and habit gets you there.” - Zig Ziglar

Take Time Out to Confer with Yourself

Tap Your Supreme Thinking Power

1. You listen to people who have what you want, have been where you're at, but you ultimately listen to yourself.

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” - Zig Ziglar

2. Your first thought when you are quiet usually is your correct choice.

  • Once you make a decision, act as if you made the best decision.

  • That decision has to dictate your thoughts and your actions.

  • Do not falter from this decision. Do not doubt your decision.

“When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal; you do not change your decision to get there.” - Zig Ziglar

3. Take time to meditate and just let your answers come to you.

  • Do acupuncture on yourself - IF YOU ARE AN ACUPUNCTURIST.

  • Listen to guided meditation.

  • Allow yourself to sit and write.

  • Listen to motivating audios.

  • Read books to keep your mind thinking correctly.

  • Go to seminars where you will meet like-minded people.

  • Cultivate relationships that nurture your dreams.

  • Be extremely generous with your recognitions.

  • All of these basic actions are what I call PERSONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT.

“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” - Zig Ziglar

4. Be okay with "failing." Fail your way to the top. In BJJ, we have a saying, "There's no losing, only learning." You either win or you learn. By being fearless of failing, you'll grow so much the moment you accept this concept.

“Make failure your teacher, not your undertaker.” - Zig Ziglar

5. Be Happy with Your Practice

  • Look at all of your accomplishments.

  • Encourage yourself.

  • Be proud of what you've already achieved in your life.

  • Take pride in your title as a licensed acupuncturist or Doctor of this medicine.

  • Speak with great pride of this medicine.

“The more you are grateful for what you have, the more you will have to be grateful for.” - Zig Ziglar

6. Facing FEAR

  • You will never grow if you do not face your fears.

“Fear has two meanings: ‘Forget everything and run’ or ‘Face everything and rise.’ The choice is yours.” - Zig Ziglar

7. Use this pandemic time to SUPER THINK.
